SOCHI, Russia -- Sepp Blatter says he would seek re-election as FIFA president if the member federations ask him.

The 209 member countries have their best opportunity on June 10 in Sao Paulo at their annual congress ahead of the World Cup opening match. Blatter could use the congress to pre-empt a widely predicted candidacy from UEFA President Michel Platini, who has refused to commit before the World Cup.

Four years ago, Blatter sought and received acclamation from FIFA's congress in Johannesburg to seek a fourth four-year term the following year.

Blatter has intimated regularly he will run again despite pledging in 2011 -- at a UEFA congress chaired by Platini in Paris -- that this term would be his last.

"If I am in health, and actually I am in good health, I don't see why now I should think to stop work," said Blatter, who was elected president in 1998. He is in his 39th year working for football's world governing body.

Blatter, an International Olympic Committee member, gave the interview on the sidelines of the IOC's annual meeting ahead of the Winter Games. He was scheduled to leave Sochi before the opening ceremony late Friday.

Blatter's promise in 2011 came during a bitter campaign against Mohamed bin Hammam of Qatar, who withdrew his candidacy days before polling when implicated in trying to bribe voters from the Caribbean.

Former Blatter aide Jerome Champagne declared last month his intention to seek the FIFA presidency, though the French former diplomat acknowledged he was unlikely to challenge his one-time boss directly.

Colombia Primera A Wrap: Santa Fe held

Santa Fe dropped points for the first time this season with Deportivo Cali holding the Colombia Primera A leaders to a scoreless draw.

Reigning champions Atletico Nacional moved within a point of Wilson Gutierrez’s Santa Fe with a 2-0 win over Deportes Tolima on Sunday, taking advantage of the Colombian league leaders’ draw on Saturday.

Santa Fe kept their fourth clean sheet of the Apertura campaign but were unable to break down Cali’s defence with the visitors claiming just their second point of the season.

The result left Santa Fe on 13 points from five matches with a plus seven goal difference, while Nacional (12 points, plus nine) and Boyaca Chico (12, plus four) sit second and third respectively.

The reigning champions beat Tolima thanks to goals from Diego Peralta and Fernando Uribe, while the losers finished the match with 10 players after Felipe Noguera was shown a red card just after the hour-mark.

Boyaca Chico defeated Envigado 2-0 thanks to a first-half brace from Armando Carrillo.

Once Caldas and Junior both moved up to 11 points after they recorded wins on Sunday.

Junior edged out Patriotas Boyaca 1-0 and Once Caldas held off Alianza Petrolera to win 2-1.

Atletico Huila drew 1-1 with Medellin, Itagui won 2-1 over Fortaleza, Deportivo Pasto were held to a 1-1 draw by Millonarios and La Equidad and Uniautonoma played out a scoreless draw.
