Russell Wilson has high ambitions. (USATSI)
There's not much that Russell Wilson can't do if he puts his mind to it. Dude's consistently beaten the doubters throughout his career. His next goal is a big one though: Wilson wants to own a professional sports team.
Or maybe two of them.
"I want to be an owner of a team one day, whether it's baseball or football," Wilson told Kevin Clark of the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday. "Maybe even both."
Wilson was a two-sport athlete for most of his life, getting drafted by the Colorado Rockies while playing both baseball and football at North Carolina State University. He finished his football career at Wisconsin before being drafted by the Seahawks.
And now he's a member (of sorts) of the Texas Rangers. Texas drafted him and while Wilson doesn't plan on playing for Texas, he will be joining them at spring training this year.
"I love to get around as many people as I can," Wilson said of joining the Rangers at spring training. "I want to learn as much as I can so that way in my future, down the road after playing 20 years -- hopefully for the Seahawks -- I can [own a team]."
So what else goes into this? Wilson pointed to the same stuff he talks about when he quarterbacks with the added bonus of networking.
"The biggest thing is networking and doing your job well. Whenever you do something, do it the best you possibly can and produce all the time, whether it's football or communicating," Wilson said. "You want to put your best foot forward."

Colts WR Reggie Wayne expected to be ready for training camp
Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne is 35 years old. Players of that age don't exactly recover quickly from major knee injuries, but general manager Ryan Grigson said last week that he expects Wayne to be good to go when the team opens training camp. Head coach Chuck Pagano said Wayne "is working hard to get back." The 13-year vet tore his right ACL on Nov. 3 versus the Texans.
That means Wayne would go from moment of injury to fully healthy in less than nine months. Even in today's world with incredible medical advancements, that seems like an incredibly short period of time to heal from an ACL injury, especially for an older player. Wayne was on pace for another 1,000-yard season prior to the injury. He should be seen as just a WR3 for 2014. He turns 36 in November.
