John Elway isn't messing around, kids. Just over 12 hours after dropping a $57 million bombshell by signing cornerback Aqib Talib, Elway made another splash by inking defensive end DeMarcus Ware to a massive contract, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports.
That deal is truly a whopper: a three-year, $30 million deal with $20 million guaranteed.
Ware was recently cut by the Cowboys after they got put into a salary-cap squeeze when Ware wouldn't take a pay cut.
Can you blame him for not taking less money? Dude strolled out onto the open market and got real rich(er) real quick.

Ware was most productive in his career playing as a 3-4 outside linebacker but he spent 2013 playing as a 4-3 defensive end, so he can slot into the Broncos system just fine.
Coupled with Von Miller, Sylvester Williams and Derek Wolfe, Ware could immediately impact the Broncos' ability to get after the passer.
Denver's defense is suddenly looking potentially dangerous with the seven-time Pro Bowler.

Eric Decker becomes Jets' new No. 1 WR
ESPN's Adam Schefter, as has pretty much been the case for every big story over the past 36 hours, has the scoop:"Jets are giving former Broncos WR Eric Decker a 5-year, $36.25M deal, including $15M [guaranteed], per source," Schefter tweeted Wednesday night.
It's a big splash for the Jets, and that's great for the team. They needed someone to be Geno Smith's go-to-guy, and Decker, the best wide receiver available on the market, should be better than Santonio Holmes. Plus, the contract isn't too pricey. Let's not forget what the Dolphins gave Mike Wallace last year. But hopefully that money and the ego-boosting title of "No. 1 wideout" comforts Decker as he realizes how good he had it with Peyton Manning. It's a plummet to Geno Smith, and without a big improvement in his second season, Decker is going to be a streaky fantasy contributor, with good weeks and more than enough bad weeks.A Decker advocate could say "Well, as an undisputed No. 1 wideout, Decker could put up solid overall numbers just due to the amount of targets he will see." You don't think opposing defenses realize he's the best receiver the Jets have by a mile? Who is their second target? Stephen Hill? Jeremy Kerley? David Nelson?Decker is going to see increased defensive attention as well as a bunch of wayward passes head his way this season. He definitely won't finish with double-digit touchdowns as he did the past two years in Denver. I'd be rather surprised if he even topped 1,000 yards. Decker will be an overvalued WR3 in drafts. The Broncos are still sitting pretty with Wes Welker and the Thomas duo, Demaryius and Julius, surrounding Manning.
