Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker won so much money at the 2014 Kentucky Derby he walked out the door dishing out $100 bills. One problem: He took in more money than he was supposed to.

Gregg Doyel Welker keeping $15K that isn't his? Not a good look

According to TMZ, Welker pulled in an extra $15,000 in winnings because of a machine malfunction.

Welker joined the Dan Patrick Show on Friday and, when asked about the malfunction and whether he would hand money back to Churchill Downs, had a very succinct response.

Well then.

Welker also added Churchill Downs wouldn't have contacted him if he'd been underpaid so it's not fair to demand money in return for a mistake.

While the wideout might have a point, here's betting Churchill Downs doesn't see it that way.

Rams release RB Daryl Richardson

As a rookie in 2012, Daryl Richardson was a part-time sparkplug out of the Rams' backfield. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry and his future in the league looked bright. Now, less than two years later, he is out of work. The Rams released him on Thursday. This comes after a 2013 season in which Richardson's averages plummeted, he was bothered by foot and thigh injuries and found himself buried on the depth chart, spending some game days as a healthy scratch. The Rams' RB depth chart consists of undisputed starter Zac Stacy, rookie Tre Mason, Benny Cunningham, and 2012 second-rounder Isaiah Pead.

I guess the move catches us a little off guard, especially because Richardson showed special skills just a couple of years ago and opened last season as St. Louis' starter. But the Rams are showing faith in Mason and Pead. I can't say that's misguided; there is still plenty of potential in those two. Either way, all secondary running backs on the Rams will be playing bit parts behind expected workhorse Stacy. Richardson will land somewhere else as a change-of-pace player with a lot to prove.
