Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach David Blatt is in talks to become Steve Kerr's lead assistant with the Golden State Warriors, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Blatt's hiring would be an immense coup for Kerr, who could lean on the European coaching icon to transform what had been an underachieving and uncreative offense under former coach Mark Jackson.
Blatt is engaged in talks to join Kerr's staff as the top assistant coach, a move that Blatt had been reluctant to make in past years. Blatt has always been intrigued with coaching in the NBA, but had hoped he could make the transition from Europe into a head coaching job. Blatt has turned down NBA assistant jobs in the past.
…As one major college coach who has studied Blatt's offense this spring told Yahoo Sports recently, "I am not sure there is anyone in the U.S. with the kind of creative efficiency or ability to change constantly like David Blatt has. He utilizes what his players do as well as anyone I've ever watched."
Maccabi Tel Aviv won the Euroleague championship this season, and Blatt has long been considered a top offensive mind. Hours after that win, he told USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt that he was "very interested" in the NBA, but he was talking about a head-coaching position.
The Minnesota Timberwolves plan to reach out to Blatt to gauge his interest in joining Flip Saunders' staff, according to the Associated Press' Jon Krawczynski. Minnesota might choose an assistant who will be groomed to take over from Saunders eventually.

LeBronning meme sweeps internet
Planking? Over with.
Tebowing? Got cut.
LeBronning? That’s where it’s at now.
LeBron James left Game 1 of the NBA Finals due to cramps, and he needed help leaving the floor. Plenty of people – it appears mostly in San Antonio – are making sure nobody forgets that.

Not going to lie – as much the contempt for LeBron is misguided – I would probably be LeBronning with a couple friends if I were a Spurs fan.
Just you and a couple of your best buds in a close embrace and the momentarily feeling of superiority to the best basketball player in the world. It looks fun.
But you probably won’t hold the high ground for long.
James Dator of SB Nation has the best response to LeBronning.
