Even before Nick Foles suffered a broken clavicle in Sunday's game against the Texans, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman had reportedly soured on the quarterback in recent weeks.

This becomes moot for now; Foles is sidelined for several weeks and Mark Sanchez is the Eagles' starter. Either way, coach Chip Kelly, who praised Sanchez after helping the Eagles to a win Sunday, denies that the team is ready to move on from Foles.

“I don't know where that stuff comes from," Kelly said, via CSNPhilly.com's John Gonzalez. "I know this: I know I control the roster. I think you guys can see first hand, I don't talk to anybody. So whoever says they have a source in terms of what's going to go on with roster maneuvers, people going up and people going down, then they never talk to the right person because that comes from me. That was never the case.

“I have great faith in Nick and I think he's a hell of a quarterback. I think sometimes he gets banged too much. I wish we had more people like Nick Foles in our lives.”

That last sentence should be on a t-shirt.

Foles was one of the NFL's biggest surprises a season ago, when he started 10 games and threw 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Through eight games this season, he has 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. And no matter how much Kelly might like him, whether Foles returns to the lineup when he's healthy will have everything to do with how Sanchez performs.

Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon benched; team turns back to Josh McCown

The Mike Glennon era in Tampa Bay is over - again. After filling in for an injured and turnover-prone Josh McCown from Week 3 through Week 9, QB Mike Glennon has been benched and the Bucs will be going back to McCown in Week 10. McCown started the first three games of the year, the third of which he injured his thumb in. He's been sidelined since, in favor of Glennon. In his two complete games, McCown threw for an average of 181 yards and only managed two touchdown passes, while being picked off four times. In his five starts, Glennon has averaged just under 269 yards, has thrown nine touchdowns and has been intercepted six times.

In the spirit of the elections going on today, McCown is like that politician that is the lesser of two evils. The Bucs brought him in to be "their guy" this season and his first two games were less than mediocre. He was bad. However, Glennon didn't do much with the opportunity given him, so back to the bench he goes.McCown is worth a look in two QB leagues, or as a bye week filler due to the matchup with Atlanta this week. The Falcons allow the 29th most passing yards per game in the league. He has good weapons at his disposal. WRs Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans, along with RB Bobby Rainey give him three very solid threats in the passing game. However, he's still a reach.
