More NFL offseason: Mock Drafts | Prospect Rankings | Pro Days | Top free agents

With the Dolphins losing defensive tackle Paul Soliai to the Falcons, they've reportedly replaced him quickly with former Texans defensive tackle Earl Mitchell, signing him to a four-year, $16 million deal, according to various reports.

Soliai got a richer deal, signing a reported contract worth five years and $33 million with Atlanta, but Miami gets a younger player (Mitchell is 26 years old compared to the 30-year-old Soliai).

Mitchell is the No. 100-ranked free agent on the CBSSports.com list, and he recorded 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season.

Jonathan Martin's Dolphin days are officially over: Miami trades him to 49ers for late draft pick

There isn't much direct fantasy value here, but a conclusion has been reached for one of the men at the center of the NFL's biggest off-the-field story of 2013. The Dolphins have traded offensive tackle Jonathan Martin to the 49ers for a conditional 2015 seventh-round pick.Martin abruptly left the Dolphins on his own accord in Week 9, which opened the door to endless coverage of how Martin's own teammates on the offensive line, including guard Richie Incognito, teased him and, as we later found out, other members of the franchise. The compensation is conditional with Martin actually earning a spot on the Niners' roster. The Dolphins will not receive any compensation if Martin doesn't make the team. This is the second trade the 49ers made on Tuesday.

Martin gets the fresh start he needs with his old college coach, Jim Harbaugh, at the helm of one of the league's best teams. The 49ers may not be the most lovey-dovey team in the league, but they are a far cry from big top over Miami. I'm sure players and people around the NFL will always think less of Martin because of how he didn't fire back against the assaults and handle his situation with a certain brand of machismo. I'll be rooting for Martin to get his career back on track after a year that anyone would want to forget if they were the victim.
