Ravens keep Jacoby Jones with $4.5M guarantee

Get the party bus ready because Jacoby Jones is staying Baltimore. The Ravens wide receiver agreed to a deal on Wednesday that will keep him in Baltimore for at least four more years, the team announced.

Jones' new deal with the Ravens has a maximum value of $14 million and includes $4.5 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN.com.

The 29-year-old receiver was visiting with the New York Giants on Wednesday, before deciding that he wanted to stay in Baltimore where he's been since 2012.

The 2012 Pro Bowler made a name for himself in Super Bowl XLVII when he scored two touchdowns in the Ravens 34-31 win over San Francisco. Jones totaled 262 yards in the game, including a Super Bowl record 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 56-yard touchdown reception.

In 2013, Jones' season got off to a rough start when he sprained his knee in a Week 1 loss to Denver. Jones missed four games due to the injury and even made headlines while he was rehabbing when he allegedly got into an altercation with a stripper on a party bus.

Jones rebounded from the injury and ended up catching 37 passes for 455 yards and two touchdowns on the season. The 29-year-old also returned one kickoff for a touchdown in 2013 and it was a big one.

During a Week 14 game with Minnesota, Jones returned a fourth quarter kickoff 77-yards for a score that gave Baltimore a late 22-19 lead in a game the Ravens would win 29-26. That game involved a total of 36 points being scored in the final 2:30.

Jones was also involved in a memorable kickoff that didn't go for a touchdown. In Week 13, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin stepped on the field while Jones was returning a kickoff. Although Jones didn't score on the play, the Ravens still won 22-20.

Buccaneers sign TE Brandon Myers to 2-year deal



After a forgettable season with the Giants, tight end Brandon Myers will look to return to his 2012 form as a member of the Buccaneers. Myers signed a two-year deal with the Bucs on Tuesday. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Myers' contract is worth about $4 million with incentives on top of that.Myers never seemed to fit with the Giants after signing a similarly cheap one-year deal with them last March. He looked lost while running routes in the Giants' offense and saw his production drop precipitously from 2012. That year, Myers caught 79 passes for 806 yards and four touchdowns with the Raiders. Myers caught just 47 passes for 522 yards with the Giants.



The Bucs have Tim Wright on the roster, but they wanted to get another pass-catching tight end who could also block. I don't think this fills that need. What it does is steal fantasy value from both tight ends. You can forget about Wright and Myers in your summer drafts.
