The German Football Association (DFB) is hoping to arrange a friendly against Israel in 2015, the year that marks the 50th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

On May 12, 1965, Israel and Germany agreed to take up diplomatic relation, 20 years after the end of World War II.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the agreement, Germany are hoping to travel to Israel in late March 2015, and are currently in talks with the Israel Football Association.

“This is also appreciated by politics within the anniversary of 50 years of German-Israel relations, especially by chancellor Angela Merkel,” DFB president Wolfgang Niersbach told Sport Bild.

“The Israel coach [Elli Guttman] yet has to agree, because that is a double matchday, when they also play the European Championship qualifier against Wales [on March 28, 2015]. He might not want to risk a defeat against Germany before that.”

The DFB is also hoping to travel to Spain for a prestigious friendly in November 2014, with DFB general secretary Helmut Sandrock confirming talks between the two associations in the newspaper.

In 2015 and 2016, Germany plan to host England, Italy and Netherlands, according to the report.

Competition: Premier League

Market: Fulham to win against Norwich

Odds: 11/10 @ William Hill

Fulham are dreaming of Premier League survival after a valuable 2-1 away win against Aston Villa last weekend. The struggling outfit, currently 18th, are five points adrift of Norwich one place above them. Fulham have won two of their last four games, while Norwich have recently sacked manager Chris Hughton with just five games to go and a horrific run of games ahead of them.

William Hill are backing the resurgent Cottagers with odds of 11/10 to get a valuable three points this weekend that would make the relegation battle wide open again. Norwich City’s woeful away form is well-documented this season, but the Canaries haven’t fashioned a victory on their travels since December last year.

They also lost 2-1 to Fulham when the two sides met earlier this campaign, and with spirits low following Hughton’s departure, rejuvenated Fulham may well consider Norwich for the taking on Saturday.

Norwich don’t score many on their travels, but Fulham do have the worst defence in the Premier League this season. It promises to be a fantastic spectacle with league survival at stake.
