A nightmare year got much worse for 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith on Sunday night, when he was taken into custody at Los Angeles Airport, arrested and charged with false report of a bomb threat.

With Smith's off-field issues clearly a major, major problem, let's toss on the hindsight goggles and look at, courtesy of Fox Sports' Alex Marvez, Smith's draft profile.

While Smith's public profile looked pretty clean, Marvez reports that Smith's pre-draft profile showed that the linebacker was "a higher-than-average risk" of "getting into trouble" in the future.

"He has some past experience with getting into trouble and is a higher-than-average risk for this sort of behavior in the future," the report states.

Smith was taken seventh overall by the 49ers in the 2011 NFL Draft and has a whopping 42 sacks in three seasons since stepping on the field for San Francisco.

That's particularly impressive considering Smith missed significant time last season after an ugly driving under the influence incident that landed the linebacker in rehab.

Smith also had an issue with a felony weapons charge and at this point has more red flags flying around his off-field behavior than an Olympic procession.

According to Marvez, Smith didn't score well when it came to a SIGMA motivational testing.

"On a 10-point grading system, Smith scored a 1 for interpersonal style, receptivity to coaching and dedication," Marvez reports. "He scored a 2 for focus, affective commitment and interpersonal style."

It's not entirely fair to look back now and say that Smith was going to be a problem based on his pre-draft evaluations.

But certainly he had red flags coming into the draft and those have quite clearly come to fruition.

QB specialist works out Griffin III; says old RG3 is back

Quarterback guru Terry Shea recently worked with Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, and came away saying that, "he reminded me of the old Robert Griffin that I knew coming out of Baylor for those eight-10 weeks we worked together in 2012".The six day stretch in March where the two worked together gave Shea a chance to assess Griffin III after his tenuous second season, much of which was spent trying to convince head coach Mike Shanahan that he could play. "He looked 100 percent healthy," Shea reported to Jim Corbett of USA Today on Friday. "I didn't let up on him and, boy, he kept coming".Shea has worked with other quarterbacks such as Blaine Gabbert, Matthew Stafford, Sam Bradford, and Josh Freeman.

Oh, let's hope this proves to be true! Griffin was one of the most exciting rookie quarterbacks we've ever seen when he burst onto the scene in 2012, passing for 3,200 yards, rushing for over 800, and combining for 27 total touchdowns while leading the Redskins to the playoffs. Last season was widely considered a disapointment for Griffin III. Even though he threw for a few more yards (3,203), his rushing yards and touchdowns were way down, while his interceptions were up.Heading into 2014, RG3 is set up for success. His weapons have been upgraded, as the 'skins have brought in wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Andre Roberts to compliment Pierre Garcon and TE Jordan Reed. With these weapons, Griffin III shouldn't need to run as much as in the past, which will hopefully lead to him staying healthy. A healthy Griffin III means an uptick for all four of these pass-catchers.In a FFWC Draft-n-Go slow draft that is currently ongoing, Griffin III was the 13th QB off the board, taken by high-stakes pro Coltsfan. Among QB's, he went between Dallas's Tony Romo and Chicago's Jay Cutler. If you'd like to see how that draft is unfolding, follow along here:football2.fulltimefantasyleagues.com/2014/options
