Draft coverage: Draft picks and grades | Prospect Rankings | Mock drafts | News

NEW YORK -- It was a run on SEC quarterbacks that saw the Bengals draft Alabama's AJ McCarron in the No. 164 overall spot and the Titans grab LSU's Zach Mettenberger at No. 178.

But before all that, former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray found a new home when the Chiefs drafted him in the fifth round with the No. 163 overall pick. The pick, which occured right before fellow SEC alum AJ McCarron was selected was given a so-so grade from our Derek Stephens.

Murray had a standout career with the Bulldogs, setting an SEC record in career touchdowns and career passing yards and throwing for 3,000-plus yards in all four years of eligibility. But he tore his ACL toward the end of the 2013 season, and his size (6-foot-1, 207 pounds) probably was a big negative for teams looking for a quarterback.

Still the selection was met with approval by CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco.

Jaguars take their latest QB of the future, UCF's Blake Bortles

Blaine Gabbert is long gone, and the Jaguars didn't wait long Thursday night to take who they hope can be their quarterback of the future, for real this time: UCF quarterback Blake Bortles. He was the third overall pick.

Pardon me. Before I start this fantasy take section, I have to say, as a UCF alum, that I am pretty damn happy right now.Now ... please don't ruin him, Jacksonville. And that means please don't play him in Week 1 of the regular season. Bortles isn't ready for that. I believe he has the most upside of any quarterback in this draft, but he is an unfinished product. He is a big, athletic quarterback in the mold of an Andrew Luck -- although Luck is much better. Bortles still needs to work on his accuracy and arm strength. I fear that if Jacksonville starts him from the beginning, he is going to get swallowed up by the league because that team isn't ready to support a talented-but-raw rookie quarterback. Bortles shouldn't have much fantasy value this season. Chad Henne should have the greatest odds of being the Jaguars' starter.
