The Jaguars brought Blake Bortles in on Sunday. The Jaguars brought Blake Bortles in on Sunday. (USATSI)

The Jaguars crowd roared. Can you blame them? Blake Bortles was finally under center.

After another middling half from Chad Henne, Gus Bradley and his staff finally made the move to plug the rookie Bortles in as the Jaguars quarterback.

Taken No. 3 overall, the Jags insisted throughout the offseason Bortles wouldn't play his rookie year. They kept it up despite an impressive preseason from Bortles.

Finally, after being outscored 30-0 by the Colts -- and 105-10 the past eight quarters -- enough was enough and Bortles was inserted into the game.

Bortles went on to finish 14/24 for 223 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the team's 44-17 loss to the Colts. He found Cecil Shorts and Allen Hurns for the scores. And he did enough to earn the starting QB job moving forward.

But the play everybody will be talking about was this Marino Moment from the rookie:

Patriots will continue to 'play it safe' with TE Rob Gronkowski

Erik Frenz of Boston.com wrote Saturday that "Rob Gronkowski probably will not play 100 percent of the snaps this week. ... Patriots may continue to play it safe with [his] health." Frenz is hinting that the Patriots know what they have in Gronk and can continue to utilize him as a red-zone threat.

Using him as a red-zone target is just fine for fantasy owners. Over the first two weeks of play, Gronkowski has managed a middle-of-the-pack 10.5 points per game in PPR formats. That's likely his floor, and he always has the chance for a breakout game. He is a must-start in all formats.
