Joseph Randle was arrested for stealing cologne on Monday. Joseph Randle allegedly forgot to pay at Dillard's. (USATSI)

Desperation is a stinky cologne. Sometimes it's even shoved illegaly in one's pocket and carried out of the store. For Cowboys running back Joseph Randle, that's how he ended up getting arrested at a Dillard's and charged for a Class-B misdemeanor.

105.3 the Fan in Dallas confirms that Randle, the Cowboys second-year backup running back, was popped for shoplifting a bottle of cologne and a pair of underwear at a local Dillard's. According to TMZ, it was Gucci Guilty Black cologne and a two-pack of Polo underwear.

Randle signed a four-year, $2.35 million contract as a fifth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2013. He is earning a base salary of $495,000 this season and also received one-quarter of his signing bonus ($47,220).

So you'd think he'd look a little more ashamed in this mugshot. But no.

In super ironic news, Randle tweeted this pretty recently:

Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno placed on IR, done for season

Knowshon Moreno has been placed on season-ending injured reserve by the Dolphins after he sustained an ACL injury in Sunday's game against the Packers. Moreno had previously missed time with an elbow injury. Moreno has a one-year contract, and will be heading for free agency in March. In Moreno's absence, Lamar Miller will lead the Dolphins backfield, followed by Damien Williams.

This is yet another tough break for Moreno, who's been unable to stay healthy since training camp. At least Moreno's owners can now release him without worrying about him returning later in the year. Miller's value should be notched up significantly, as he appears to be the feature back in Dolphins' running game. Look for Damien Williams to spell Miller, but that low-volume role won't make Williams ownable.
