Titans media expect QB Charlie Whitehurst to start again Sunday

Jake Locker's thumb injury is healing -- at least he practiced somewhat this week -- but a couple of top Titans beat reporters don't think it will well enough to allow Locker to start Sunday versus the Redskins. The Tennessean's Jim Wyatt and Titan Insider's Terry McCormick both tweeted Friday that they expect Charlie Whitehurst to get his second consecutive start under center.Locker was officially limited in every practice this week and is listed as questionable after ceding most of the first-team reps to Whitehurst.

Whitehurst has been simply simple in his two previous starts (Week 4 at Indianapolis and Week 6 versus Jacksonville) In those two games combined, Whitehurst completed 29 of 51 throws for 410 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His favorite and most productive target in those starts was tight end Delaine Walker, and it should be noted that the Redskins have given up five TE touchdowns this year. Kendall Wright is only worth consideration as a WR3 in PPR leagues, and big-play threat Justin Hunter is a boom-or-bust flex even against a defense that has allowed 13 passing TDs. Neither wideout scored or reached 80 yards in Whitehurst's two starts, and each finished one of those games with fewer than 15 yards.
