LeBron James is still undecided on the chalk toss. James spoke with reporters Friday and said he's going to ask fans on social media whether he should return to his pregame ritual next Thursday in his first home opener back with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"I may," James said Friday when asked if he has thought about resuming his patented powder poof. "I'm going to let the fans decide and see what they think. If they want me to, I will do it."
James said he will seek fan input on social media in order to make the call. Over the summer, James went a similar crowd-sourcing route to determine whether to wear his old No. 23 for the Cleveland Cavaliers, or stick to No. 6, the number he wore while winning two championships with the Miami Heat and two Olympic gold medals with USA Basketball.

He should go back to it. It's iconic. It was the giant banner outside. It's an awesome image, even if Kevin Garnett did it first, mimicking Michael Jordan.
It's really a moment that kind of defines the mythic quality he's come to embody in the NBA, and that's only exaggerated and emphasized by the legendary his return to the state he calls home has undergone. The chalk toss provides a moment where the fans can really revel in his return, in the healing of the wound created by his departure, and it allows him to carry the old him, the immature, sideline-dancing, caught-up-in-his own-hype self and merge it with the self-actualized, more mature, more considerate, more well-developed man that he returns home as.
Throw the chalk, 'Bron. You're home. You've earned it. They've earned it. Give the people what they want.

HBO releases trailer for new Kevin Durant documentary “The Off Season”
Kobe Bryant has a documentary coming out. So does Kevin Durant, his appears in just more than a week on HBO.
Above is the first trailer for it (hat tip That NBA Lottery Pick). Although it feels like the foot injury that will have him out the first quarter of the season or so takes the luster off this.
I know Durant puts in a lot of time in the off-season, you don’t get to be the MVP and one of the best players in the game without both genetic gifts and a great work ethic. Durant really is a fairly humble guy, and a guy who finds the stuff going on around basketball a distraction and doesn’t want those complexities getting in the way of just playing.
But do we really need a string of “wow, look how great this guy is” documentaries on NBA players? Ones scrubbed clean of anything interesting/real by PR machines concerned about “the brand?” Why do we want to watch these?
Personally I’d recommend Last Week Tonight with John Oliver if you’re going to watch something on HBO.
