Pierre Garcon says Richard Sherman is 'not anything special.' (USATSI)
When the Redskins and Seahawks squared off in Week 5, Seattle came away victorious. And Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman came away with a little less hair, having his dreadlocks pulled by Redskins wideout Pierre Garcon.
It made Sherman angry. Angry enough to point out that Garcon "doesn't matter in this league."
Garcon fired back back this week, telling Yahoo! Sports Radio Sherman is "not anything special."
"He's just another player that, you know, plays defense in this league," Garcon said. "He's not anything special."
Actually, Sherman is a pretty good defensive player. He might not be properly rated one way or another, but there's no question he's at least special.
And it's not like Garcon did anything in Week 5 -- he was limited to two catches for 23 yards, with 18 of those yards coming on a late, garbage-time catch.
Understandably he's got to fire back at Sherman but the reality is he got shut down during the matchup in question.
