Jerry Rice believes Jim Harbaugh's days in San Francisco are numbered. (USATSI) Jerry Rice believes Jim Harbaugh's days in San Francisco are numbered. (USATSI)

You can count Jerry Rice among the people who don't think that Jim Harbaugh will be back in San Francisco next season.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Rice was blunt with his opinion that Harbaugh will be out after 2014.

"I think he's gone," Rice said.

The former 49ers wide receiver believes that questions about Harbaugh's future might be taking a toll on the team.

"With Jim Harbaugh, there's a lot of questions out there right now," Rice said. "We don't really know if he wants to come back and be the head coach for the San Francisco 49ers. Maybe that's starting to wear and tear on the team and it's taking its toll."

One of the problems in San Francisco seems to be the relationship between Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke, a strained relationship that can have an adverse effect on the team, according to Rice.

"The team, they try to say, 'Well, we're not affected by it.' But you are, because (the coach and GM) have to make very crucial decisions that are really going to benefit the team," Rice said. "There's a lot going on with that organization right now and I think it's starting to hurt the players down there in the locker room."

Baalke probably didn't help his relationship with Harbaugh too much this week thanks to comments he made about "some things" being "broken" with the team.

"There are some things broken," Baalke said, via the San Jose Mercury News. "What I mean is, when you're 4-4 there are certain things you have to do better. The only thing we know how to correct it is to go back to work. You can't keep doing the same things over and over, can't keep making the same mistakes over and over."

There have been multiple reports of discontent in the locker room and even one report that said Harbaugh will be gone even if the 49ers win the Super Bowl this season. However, Harbaugh seems to still have the support of the only person who matters: 49ers CEO Jed York.

UPDATE: Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) to participate in Saturday walkthrough

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com has reported via Twitter that Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will participate in Saturday's walkthrough. Romo hasn't practiced all week due to his back contusion. The Cowboys will gauge how he feels at that time, but it is still unlikely that they will announce any decision until tomorrow morning when inactives become required. Part of this is gamesmanship on the part of the Cowboys. If they don't have to tip their hand to the Arizona Cardinals before Sunday, they probably won't. So, even if the team knows Romo won't be ready after the walkthrough, don't expect to get the announcement today.

As we stated yesterday, if Romo can't go, it will be Brandon Weeden under center for the Cowboys. If this is the case, give WR Terrance Williams and TE Jason Witten a mild downgrade. WR Dez Bryant will still be a solid WR1 play. RB DeMarco Murray, going up against the defense that's the toughest in the league on fantasy running backs, will have a very difficult time reaching 100 yards for the ninth straight time to start the season. It's likely that the Cardinals will focus their efforts on stopping Murray and forcing Weeden to beat them.
