The weather in Buffalo might affect the Bills game vs. the Browns too. (USATSI) The weather in Buffalo might affect the Bills' game vs. the Browns too. (USATSI)

The Bills might not fly back to Buffalo after Monday night's game against the Jets in Detroit.

With areas around Buffalo still in a state of emergency and serious concerns about further weather events and flooding next week, Bills officials are already working with the NFL on finding alternatives for the team to practice and be housed ahead of Week 13.

Even if the Bills are able to host the Browns next Sunday -- far from a certainty at this point -- there are more pressing issues about whether players and team officials would be able to get back and forth to the team facility and have the ability to practice as normal. And there is concern the team facility itself could see some damage.

The league is helping the team explore other options. Sources said that could include temporarily relocating the Bills for part or all of next week, depending on the extent of the problems in western New York. The parties will continue to assess the situation through the weekend.

The Bills are due to arrive in Detroit late Friday afternoon and have a practice scheduled at the Lions training facility for 7:15 p.m. ET. They have been unable to practice all week, and several players had to be dug out and transported by snowmobile in order to get them to cleared roads and eventually driven to the team buses in order to make the charter flight to Detroit.

Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders expected to play Week 12; TE Julius Thomas a game-time decision

It's looking like Broncos QB Peyton Manning will have at least one of his main receiving threats back on Sunday, and possibly two. Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (concussion) returned to practice Friday and is looking like he'll be good to go for the team's Week 12 game versus Miami. Tight end Julius Thomas (ankle) was limited in practice and is being called a 'game-time decision' by head coach John Fox.Sanders is well on his way to the first 1,000 yard season of his career after compiling 954 on 67 catches through his first ten games. He also has caught seven touchdowns. Thomas leads the NFL with 12 receiving touchdowns.

Getting one of these gentlemen back would be great for Manning. Getting them both would be even better. You're obviously going to use Manning, no matter what. However, against a tough Dolphins defense, the more weapons he has-the better. If you're a Thomas owner, you need to have a back-up plan in place, as the Broncos play a late game Sunday afternoon. TE Jacob Tamme is an option. Otherwise, you may need to deploy someone that is playing in one of the early games.
