Tate, in his fifth year in the NFL, was waived by the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday.



The move, on the surface, makes sense as the Vikings were notified that RB Adrian Peterson has been suspended for the remainder of the season earlier this week. With both rookie RB Jerick McKinnon (back) and RB Matt Asiata (concussion) missing Wednesday's practice, the move could simply be an insurance policy. If Tate is on your league's waiver wire, he is worth a speculative add. However, he will need some time to learn offensive coordinator Norv Turner's offense before being deployed in fantasy lineups.
