'It would take a miracle' for Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald to play today
Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald didn't practice at all this week, and he is unlikely to play this afternoon in Seattle. Specifically, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says that "it would take a miracle" for Fitzgerald to be active. Fitz suffered a fairly serious MCL sprain in his knee last week.
This news hurts the Cardinals more than it hurts fantasy owners. In four games started by Drew Stanton this season, Fitzgerald is averaging 3.5 receptions and 43.8 yards with no scores. He would have been a low-end WR3 if healthy for this game against the Seahawks. With Michael Floyd expected to see a lot of Richard Sherman, John Brown, who has shown a good connection with Stanton, is my pick to be the Cardinals' leading receiver today. Still, no one here is a confident start in standard 10- or 12-team leagues.
