Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw placed on season-ending injured reserve



The Indianapolis Colts have placed RB Ahmad Bradshaw on season-ending IR Tuesday due to a fractured fibula suffered in Sunday's loss against the Patriots. The veteran RB is set to become a free agent in the offseason. The injury leaves the Colts' RB depth chart with Trent Richardson and Dan Herron. Bradshaw, in his eighth season in the NFL, is 29 years old and has had a history of injury issues throughout his career. The news of him breaking his leg in the Week 11 loss not only puts the Colts' running game in question, but also Bradshaw's career. Until other updates surface, the veteran RB should be considered questionable for Week 1 of 2015. Richardson has the talent to take on the challenge. Owners should stand behind the Alabama alum as the Colts' playoff run may depend on it.Keep in mind that RB Ben Tate was released by the Cleveland Browns today. If the Colts' organization does not make a move on Tate it solidifies that they are all in on Richardson.Herron, a career 3.6 YPC back, is a sleeper to keep an eye on if Tate is not signed. He has not shown that he is an upgrade over Richardson in his opportunities this season.
