The Jets have lost eight straight. There are many reasons for this: injuries in the secondary, uneven play from quarterbacks Geno Smith and Michael Vick, an inconsistent offensive line and lack of playmakers at running back and wide receiver.
Put another way: There's plenty of blame to go around, from execution to coaching to the front office doing a poor job assembling a competitive roster. Things are so bad that Jets fans paid to have a "Fire John Idzik" banner over practice. Idzik is the general manager responsible for putting together the team currently on a two-month losing streak.
But coach Rex Ryan, who will almost certainly be fired at the end of the season, says it's unfair to blame Idzik for all that's wrong with the Jets.
“I recognize the fans are in pain, but to place it on one person, I don't think it's fair," Ryan said, via PFT.
But Ryan isn't trying to silence the crowd, even if they're wielding torches and pitchforks.

“The fans, I will never, ever say that the fans don't have a right to do whatever they want,” he said. “They absolutely do. They have a right to their opinions and everything else. Do they have the right to buy a billboard? Absolutely. They have a right for everything. I just think when you look at the big picture, this isn't about one man falling short. That's not it. We're 1-8 collectively. We don't like it. Trust me, we don't like it. And so that's kind of how I feel. I don't understand this part of it. I really don't. ...
“Trust me, I get it,” the coach continued. “I know our fans are really frustrated. There's no doubt about it. Obviously, we're very frustrated. Everybody is. We want to win and all that type of stuff. I personally don't think it's appropriate. I'll say this, we're working our butts off. John, everybody, is working their butts off to find a way to win.”
The Jets host the Steelers on Sunday. Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has thrown 12 touchdowns in the last two games. New York's defense, meanwhile, has surrendered a league-worst 24 touchdowns this season.

Browns TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) ruled OUT for second straight game
When the Cleveland Browns take the field against divisional foe Cincinnati on Thursday night, it will be without tight end Jordan Cameron. According to ESPN Cleveland Browns reporter Pat McManamon, Cameron will miss his second straight game due to a concussion he sustained in the team's Week 8 game. This will be the fourth game Cameron will miss due to injury. He missed two games earlier in the season with a shoulder injury. Cameron has just 13 catches for 250 yards and one touchdown on the season.
Who's in the running for tight end disappointment of the year? Well, along with several others, Cameron is at or near the top of the rankings for that dubious title. Cameron was selected as the fourth or fifth tight end off many draft boards this past summer and has most definitely not lived up to his expectations. With Cameron out and lead WR Andrew Hawkins questionable with a thigh and knee bruise, the Browns could very likely be turning to WRs Taylor Gabriel and Miles Austin, as well as TE Jim Dray. If so, downgrade all Browns.
