Bears K Robbie Gould unlikely to play Thursday; team signs veteran Jay Feely

Chicago kicker Robbie Gould, who is dealing with an injured quad muscle, is not expected to play Thursday night when the Bears host the Dallas Cowboys. In light of the injury, the team signed 38 year-old, free agent kicker Jay Feely Wednesday. Feely played for Arizona last season and made 30 of 36 field goals.

Well, we don't typically give much pub to the kickers, as they are largely unpredictable and fantasy players largely don't care about them. However, at the outside chance that someone has ended up with Gould as their kicker, thinking he's a decent play due to the projected high-scoring game with Dallas Thursday night, it's worth noting that he won't likely play. We'd hate for someone to have him in their lineup and not realize he's out, because, well, nobody likes to think about kickers. The Bears have only managed nine field goals this season and Gould is not a high-scoring fantasy option, but this game could be somewhat high-scoring. Vegas currently has the over/under set at 51.5 points, the second highest behind only Green Bay versus Atlanta. Feely isn't the absolute worst option at kicker this week. But, he is a kicker.
