Vikings trying to use WR Cordarrelle Patterson all over formation

In terms of raw athletic ability, Vikings wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is hard to beat. And it sounds like the Vikings and offensive coordinator Norv Turner will work to use Patterson's dynamic tools from all over the field this season. ESPN Ben Goessling reports that "Turner moved Patterson around in the Vikings' offense plenty" during this week's minicamp."We've moved Cordarrelle around quite a bit this week, and he seemed to handle it pretty well, so we'll see how much he can handle," Turner said.

A late-season burst in which Patterson scored six touchdowns in the final five games of the 2013 season has him high on seemingly everyone's "to draft" list. It's also a big help that Turner, an offensive coaching wizard, is handling him. Either streaking down the seam, lining up out wide for a screen, or taking a handoff on an end around, the Vikings should do whatever possible to get the ball into Patterson's hands and utilize his speed. Turner won't let him go overlooked. His ceiling can be super high, but let's see what the Vikings do about their quarterback quandary first.
