Patriots fear RB Stevan Ridley has torn ACL, MRI on Monday



Patriots running back Stevan Ridley left Sunday's game versus Buffalo in the third quarter due to a right knee injury, and it may be much more than your simple bruise or sprain. According to NFL Network's Albert Breer, the Patriots fear Ridley has torn his ACL. An official diagnosis will come once Ridley undergoes an MRI on Monday.



It's likely a tough break for Ridley, who was having a nice season after spending parts of last season in Bill Belichick's doghouse due to an acute case of fumblitis. He was on pace for more than 1,000 rushing yards, but now his season is all but over. We'll find out for sure Monday. Of course, Shane Vereen is now the most attractive fantasy option out of this backfield, but don't go thinking he'll be alone. Brandon Bolden will assume Ridley's role as the short-yardage pounder. He got six carries on Sunday and gained 10 yards. Also, this injury might force the Pats to give rookie James White some weekly opportunities. This backfield will remain impossible to predict heading into Thursday's game against the Jets.
