49ers TE Vernon Davis back at practice Wednesday
Vernon Davis returned to limited practice on Wednesday. Davis missed the 49ers' Week 3 matchup with an ankle injury. He'll try to return to the field in Week 4 for the 49ers' home showdown against the Eagles. Derek Carrier stepped in for Davis last Sunday and recorded just one catch for 23 yards. He'll likely get the go-ahead again if Davis has a setback this week.
Right now, it looks like Davis will be ready to play on Sunday, and that's good news for fantasy owners who are being squeezed hard at the TE position by injuries and bye weeks. If Davis is on the field and close to 100 percent, he should be slotted in as a top fantasy TE against the Eagles. Owners should keep a close eye on his practice schedule this week, however. It would be nice to see him get at least one full practice in before the game.
