According to a report from the New York Post Katy Perry will perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLIX.
Perry recently appeared on College GameDay, successfully picking Ole Miss to upset Alabama and then was later reportedly seen partying near The Grove.
She could be headed to an even bigger stage.
“A deal is being hammered out for Katy to play the Super Bowl,” a source told The Post.
During a recent ESPN interview, Perry said she's "not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl."
There were reports the NFL wanted artists to pony up to play the big game.
Clearly if Perry's caved, that's not the case.
Some people will be down on Perry, but that's what people do. Perry's a good choice that can bridge generational gaps and provide a pop-fueled halftime show.

Lions WR Calvin Johnson has high ankle sprain, still hopes to play in Week 6
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson said Wednesday that he hopes to play this Sunday against the Vikings. However, that may just not be possible when you consider what he's dealing with: a high ankle sprain.
Johnson has played hurt each of the past two weeks. That's about all you can say about his activity, because he certainly didn't do anything once he was on the field; he caught three passes for 19 yards in those games combined. Detroit should sit him down or else this is going to continue to hamper him for the rest of the season. Given that it's a high ankle sprain, Johnson will likely need more than just one week to get right. Of course, the Lions may not be able to grant such a luxury with all four teams in the NFC North within one game of each other. Expect Golden Tate to be a target monster for as long as Megatron is held back.
